Expert Patient Programs:
FM-CFS Canada has been researching and collecting reports on Expert Patients, like the pioneering patient self management course administered by the Arthritis Society. The premise is that patients of all chronic illnesses need to do much for themselves, and need information about what they should do. FM-CFS Canada aims to present such courses nationwide, with help. The model used by the Arthritis Society and Diabetes Association stand as Canadian examples, but there are other programs including those for FM & ME/CFS in the UK due to a system wide approach for chronic illnesses by the UK Health Department.
